Children’s Books
As a licensed social worker, I write children’s books about social-emotional skills, overcoming challenges, and therapy animals. I’m currently working on a children’s picture book series about coping with food allergies and another series about kindness.
My Perfect Cupcake is an inspiring picture book about coping with food allergies, geared toward children ages 3-8. It is the first book in the Fearless Food Allergy Friends book series.
My Perfect Cupcake brings a lighthearted approach to the serious topic of food allergies and emphasizes important values including perseverance, self-advocacy, resilience, and inclusion.
Dylan loves cupcakes more than anything! But when he tries a new cupcake flavor, he has an allergic reaction. A visit to the doctor reveals a tree nut allergy, and Dylan is told that he can no longer eat cupcakes from his favorite bakery. He decides to take matters into his own hands and face this challenge with determination. Follow Dylan as he bakes his amazing allergy-free cupcakes that get his classmates cheering.
At the end of the story, kids will find the recipe for a delicious, allergy-friendly cupcake that they can bake at home. There’s also a conversation starters page for children who are either coping with food allergies themselves or have a good friend who may need their support.

One day he decides to paint kindness rocks and place them around his community to bring people joy. Although Kevin encounters a challenge when his kindness rocks get ruined, he has a happy ending that will keep kids cheering for him throughout the entire story. Readers will enjoy the beautiful, creative illustrations of the many different types of kindness rocks throughout the story.
At the end of the book, kids will find step-by-step instructions for creating their own kindness rocks project at home. A page of conversation starters will spark discussions with kids about how they can come up with their own random acts of kindness projects.
